hey man its my buddies boat ya i htink its around a 1990 as to the power boost we put on a small turbo was kinda hard to do cause of lack of space but man does it work .......

@jayjan490 what kind of turbo did you use? could like take pictures or something so i can se how you've mounted it? my engine looks the same, and it would be sick with a turbo on it!! i think the engine is 1987-88. mine is 87. if post the model number from the side of it i'll figure it out for you

@jchip777 very nice and strong motor will last a life time

if i am not going to use mine in the next few days i all ways pull the fuel line and let it run dry and 17 years later mine still runs like new and i all ways mix up a fresh can of gas and oil

i also use yamalube 2r it is racing 2 stroke oil for my motocross bike :-)

that way when i am done fishing i can just run the rest threw my bike and not have it sitting around getting old

@dexter2433 well i ended up getting a brand new yamaha 15hp 2stroke and its a beast i can cruise at 20 with 3guys decoys guns ammo gear and dog in the boat.

Turbo???????? Not on this motor!!!!

Looks to be a 1988 or late 1989. Cover would have to be removed completely top and bottom, exhaust would have to be rerouted big time, if anything was modified, it would most probably be the addition of a 9.9 cover on a 15 or 15hp carb and or maybe a 10 or 11 pitch prop!

Have any photos of this so called turbo installed???

@mariner10rpr well in all truth it is a 15hp and they de tuned it and sold them as 9.9

back then any motor 10hp and larger required a tittle so lo and behold now they make the 9.9

but is has the same bore stroke and if you sit them side buy side you can interchange every part in between them

(i think) you can use the carburetor from a 15 and it will be a 15hp threw and threw
