  • Thanks :) Today I got the PoE injector and ethernet cables and started up the camera using FireCapture 1.1 (strangely but doesn't work with 1.2). At full resolution at 659x494 the fps are around 15, at 352x288 (suitable for Saturn)- 33fps. I guess I can't get more because of the slow speed ethernet on my mini-laptop. It's not a GigE.

For now I did a few dry tests because of the clouds.

  • @hyparh I use sharpcap. It works.

I have no injector just 220->12V adapter. Fortunately I have gigabit on my laptop so I was not limited by 659x494 at 120fps, no drop frames.

Did you noticed: at 352x288 is crop (ROI) or 659x494 resized?

Next days could be clear sky, so good luck.

  • Good video. I can hardly wait to test out my Basler, waiting for clear skies. Do you have any filters? At the moment I don't have any and will go only BW.

  • @hyparh Thanks. No filters for the moment. I will wait for an IR pass. In the future hope a filter wheel and RGB. Good luck with the Basler, nice gadget ;).

I just choose "Saturn" from the options and the active screen automatically resizes to 352x288. Although the ROI box is not checked it should be active- I see no difference if I check it or not at that rez. Last time I did the tests with histogram on, did't know that it slows down the computer a bit. So now I have around 48fps at 352x288 (but again 15 at max. rez.).

  • Impressive results for a 200 mm telescope
