Tommy Trotters Mustang LX crashing after a HIGH RPM launch @ Raceway Park @ Englishtown NJ - He was ok, but car was toast.

I don't mean to be a prick but why didn't that other driver stop and help him till the safety safari got there? And Fuel Cells ain't suppose to leak, that is what there designed for so how did it catch on fire?

@smokinjo65: Story goes something like... While waiting for his fuel cell. The engine builders took his factory gas tank & drilled tiny holes because the fuel system created sooo much vaccuum it would've collapsed in on itself. Looks like it was a stupid idea

I'm surprised he passed inspection, a fast car like that should always have a fuel cell, I really don't know the rules but it just bums me out that you would risk your life and car just to make a pass, maybe he didn't know he would catch that much air I don't know but I think wheeling bars are on order..lol

this "rescue" performed by the crew was an absolute misfire if you ask me. i thought they were gonna bust out some marshmellows and tell stories around it.

@Sideler74 its really stupid they have classes like this. Limit other things but safety equipment in my opinion shouldn't be disallowed.

Fires don't go out because they're scared at the sight of an extinguisher, you have to actually remove the pin and squeeze the handles on top.
