A brief look at the old and the new. Present and past are shown here. This is just the tip of the iceberg. There will be much more to come in the future. I have a very extensive knowledge of Griffith railroading history and the layout of the ROW's and properties in the area. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding this. If I dont know, I will find out for you.

  • No offence but some of these look fake. Not trying to be rude but It does look a little.

  • @CSXandSpartanfan33 There is absolutely nothing fake about this whatsoever. Lived here my whole life and know the railroad history of this area like the back of my hand. Plus why would I fake any of this, period? What would be the point?

  • That triple-headed searchlight signal that sat next to the bike trail has been saved and is fully restored and operational, (via Grasselli Tower controls) at HVRM.

  • Thats great. I wasnt sure what happened to it but im glad to know it was preserved. Ill have to get down there and check it out.

  • Where was the closest railroad track to N. Renssalaer street in Griffith in the early 1960's? Thats when I lived there as a child

  • ...ive walked over those tracks 9 million times >.<

  • The erie-lackawanna sealed its death with the conrail takeover, its so hard to build a rr but seems its very easy to now tear it out...

  • In 2014 they might bring it back to life for commuters
