Caught 4 hellbenders in the Allegheny river this winter while fishing using worms as bait.

Yeah they all got released with no harm to them. It's weird. I've only caught them when it's freezing cold outside, and they will be very deep in the water. I haven't encountered any since around February.

These things are all over the Ohio River. I caught one last night and my buddy caught two with chicken livers.

Dang man, that is awesome though. I personally wouldn't give that one up either. Are their any places you know of that you could let me know of though for some cool species?

Yup, I've seen them several times. I'm simply not giving that location up though so don't get your hopes up ;) They deserve to be on the endangered list in the state although they may be easier to find farther south in Penn and beyond.
