This is performance art and expression of myself with bellydance, this is not a typical bellydance video-please understand this.

edited on adobe premiere cs5

This is a bellydance offset to "Maya's Rapture" This is the animalistic side to my alter ego rather than the feminine personae. It is edited by me to look almost like a1920's vintage postcard, or film footage of an oldy worldy dancer. I also train in yoga to help with flexibility.

It is based on the concept of Hindu Goddesses and what they symbolize such as "Lakshmi" who embodies generocity, courage, wisdom, beauty and grace- she rides an elephant into battle it is said her mother is "Durga" who rides a Tiger into battle whilst smiling....Eventually when Durga's fury reaches its peak, the destructive warrior Goddess Kali springs out of Durga and kills all the demons! So all these personalities are within me basically :) it also references the Apache warriors who summon their animal spirits with ritualistic dances before they go into battle.

first song "Maya's theme" by Mychael Danna for the film "Kamasutra:A tale of Love.
Second song "Khundas": composed by Shiva in Exile
(Thank you for both giving me permission to use your music.)

  • I would love to see your eyes/ expression dancing as well as [ as powerful as ] your body but I'm definitely impressed with your interpretive, artistic skills.

    Xlent

  • @thepalmcollective That is interesting because everyone else who has seen it have said the opposite, telling me that my eyes and expressions remind them of the dance scene from "queen of the Damned" However im not an actress so I doubt I could get anymore expressive than that. Thank you for your comment :)

  • Don't understand how anyone could 'dislike' this... You dance beautifully x

  • @thetarafae thankyou so much, perhaps because it isnt a typical belly dance video. it is more of a performance of myself becoming a tigress but thank you for your lovely comment you made my day :)

  • I'm a little late in commenting on this but some of my friends simultaneously sent me the link! I can see what sparked their enthusiasm! A simpler approach- done in real time on a modest set - would have been enough to convey your enthusiasm for this subject, especially with your appropriately savage look! But I love the work you put into this as much as the end result we can now see!

  • @WarrenParkwoodLinden thank you so much for your kind words. if you read the info in the description box you will understand why I edited it a certain way.

  • so beautiful, i could not take my eyes off of you!!

  • @SultrySeeker thank you so much I am still learning and there is more to come from me in the future and it may take a while because I do love turning the whole experiance into something professional, I love organizing teams of people to be a part of what I do, I love planning the concept and I love the editing process too. And as a dancer I am always looking to improve through use of yoga and im now interested in martial arts and weapons hahaha to become a warrior woman!
