The Mangeshkar family holds a unique place in the history of Indian music, whether it is classical, devotional, pop, playback/soundtrack, folk or regional. Their talent, single-minded devotion to music and dedication to it is unmatched. Together and even individually, they are among India's finest exponents of art, culture and a living legacy of its rich traditions. Long live!

I daresay Hindi speaking "Illiterates" WILL arrive at literacy when "literates" such as MEPRAJAKT learn to write proper English...

marathi se hindi hai, hindi se marathi hai. Please lets not fight over languages, agar marathi aapki matra bhasha hai, toh Hindi aapki Mausi lagti hai, aur yadi hindi aapki matrabhasha hai to marathi mausi hai. Hindi bhaashi aur marathi bhashi mein koi antar nahi, sabhi bharatiya sabhyata ke bacche hain. Peace to all.

@ytub7 gur gur bola marathi manoos. maharastra is a hotspot now for education but throughout history you will see nalanda, then south india and later bengal was the hotspot for the world at large. calcutta today is maybe a slow place , but during the british times it was more cosmo than mumbai. kashmir was a cosmopolitan city when the silk trade flourished. pride and vanity brings fall. Its very easy to condemn others.1 is that they dont travel in their own country, but love int travel.

But taking pride in one's own language/literature/culture/mu
sic/people peacefully propogating the same does not, in my opinion, endanger or undermine nationalism or national unity which is required against foreign powers or to even solve domestic political problems. I cannot speak for each individual but the Indian Armed forces are doing a great job and I personally am proud of every jawan, no matter what region he would be from. -
Well...I think we are again confusing the regionalism that is a fact/reality based on different languages and cultures (our states are primarily formed based on this) with regional politics which could potentially cause divisions like we see separatists asking for separation from the nation. The first is a fact/reality that cannot change and not a choice whereas the 2nd is definitely a choice and if people are "regional" as opposed to "national", then we certainly have that danger.
-
Yes. However, we are not Europe, individual nation states working under a loose fededartion.
The dnger that I see in this regionalism is that if a part of India were to be threatened, the rest of India may not relate to the danger, in the same way as Awhen it was invaded by central asian hordes or the british. And over time we might fall prey to our history again

In EU too, for instance Germans take pride in saying Mozart,or Beethoven were theirs, French take pride in their painters and designers and Italians take pride in their sportsmen...They don't term them as Europeans...So it is in human nature I think to relate other successful ppl to themselves one way or the other...and Indians are no exception to this....Further, Asians being groupists than individualists, which again is part of the culture, this does not come as a surprise
-
The nation definitely comes first but the fact that we have governments/public issues/media/tv channels (Zee or others n its regional), etc. which are more "regional" in nature, makes it hard to dissolve these boundaries completely. So unfortunately in "unity in diversity", there is more diversity than unity, which is certainly not something I like or wish but is just reality and hence a BIG challenge to effectively and efficiently run the nation...But yeah I certainly am a nationalist...
Its not Hardaynath as displayed in Subtitles...its 'Hridaynath'...when will Hindi speaking illiterates will get literate.

It is nice that they displayed Asha as "Asha Mangeshkar"...I think lots of Hindi speaking public is not aware that Asha comes from the same MANGESHKAR family like Lata, Hridaynath and others...I wish we could see the complete program posted...Mangeshkars are the GEM of Maharashtra!! and one reason to be a proud Maharashtrian...
