From RISK to ACTION: Women and HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia

Nearly 60% of HIV+ individuals in Ethiopia are women. Gender bias and the biology of transmission make women more vulnerable to infection. Poverty, lack of access to education, and violence against women increase their risk. This film profiles the connection between gender and HIV/AIDS, as well as the work of leaders in education and policy change to improve the status of women.

  • Because Ethiopia is the ONLY country in Africa that hasn't been colonized by Europeans. Every other country has been compromised and taken over. Due to them defeated the Italians, the have been pretty much shut off from the outside world. The World Bank and others supports a rogue government that take from the people. Ethiopia has the natural resources to survive take for instance Starbucks coffee has become rich using Ethio coffee, which is sole producer of the 3 top coffees in the world.

  • South technically we re not black, the term black was a name given to African-American people who lost sight of where they came from, Caucasians couldn't explain it, either, so they gave the African-Americans a name out of a crayon box and said thats what they are. We don't like to be called "BLACK" because we AFRICANS know and love where we come from.

  • hahahahaha that ethio made u mentally ill i guess by telling u we are not black. LOOOL!

  • this ethiopian told me..ethiopians are not black???? fucking ethio-sluts 2 birr get you hiv fuck........

  • somalia is nowhere to being the same at ethiopians.. maybe eritera and ethiopia cuz they used to be one country

  • What you're saying is in the line of what I want to say but did not say. Not blaming Africa, empathizing for it.

  • Africa is Continent u cant blame Africa but dont know why they are not understanding that the enemy is the white man not eachother the white pays money to one groip to fight another its happening all over africa. I wish they understand that

  • One possible answer, because it's in Africa!

  • I have a question Ethiopia is one of the oldest countries in the world and most ancient why is so poor and undevolped, crying for help and full with famine. Please eplain to me i have been trying to Understand.
