@J32195 Mark Buerhle is a good pitcher, but by no means would the Rangers trade Scheppers for him. And Jake Peavy can't even stay healthy, I believe he suffered a pretty devastating injury for the White Sox last year. The only pitchers I could imagine the Rangers trading Scheppers along with a package of Martin Perez, Engel Beltre, and Jurickson Profar for are guys like Josh Johnson of the Marlins or Felix Hernandez of the Mariners if they become available at the trade deadline.
The Rangers are trying to stretch Scheppers out into being a starter but from watching clips of this guy, he seems to have the demeanor of a closer. Not to mention he has the fastball of a closer. I'd like to see this guy develop into a front-line closer so Neftali Feliz can be moved into the rotation when the time is right. Scheppers, along with Martin Perez are the Rangers' top two prospects, and are developing fast. They both could be pitching in Arlington in no time.
@hrmoore41 not even Garza, I would maybe for a guy like jake peavy or mark buehrle or even someone like matt cain, but no chance for someone as mediocre as matt garza
@J32195 no way would Perez or Scheppers have been traded for Wigginton, ever. These are our two top pitching prospects. Either of these two could be a key peice in a trade for Matt Garza...Ty Wigginton, not sooo much.
@MicDizzle2- highly doubt it wiggington isn't good enough for a possible cy young winner. you'd have to give up a bit more. you might get perez but thats it
