Black Stone Cherry @ the Cave City Convention Center for the Folklore and Superstition CD release show. This was John Fred's drum solo...

Any skips in the video are from me taking a picture while it was recording...the camera's manual didn't mention it screws the video when you do that.

  • behold, the new bonham.

  • Never thought I'd agree with something like that, and while not a huge Zep fan, you could very well be right!

  • you can so tell who his hero is...

  • THAT BASS DRUM SOUNDS AWESOME MAN

  • @austinstroker11 The Kentucky Headhunters had his uncle or father in it with the same name and I talk about John Fred all the time he is a great drummer to watch kinda like Tommy Stuart from Godsmack/Lo Pro he has that wide and wild style that is just great to watch.

  • Not bad, but from a drummers viewpoint, its nothing new or that special. If you want to see real talent look for tony royster jr., Benny greb or jojo mayer.

  • @VentoRdrummeR A youtube sensation and a local following is all this cat has. I congratulate him for that. His name is not a name that is brought up in any of my drumming circles, how many gigs have you played and folks tell you your the best they ever heard?? I ask several Austin musicians if they had heard of John Fred Young, most replys were.....didnt he play for the Headhunters? LOL .Other replys were....no.... ask anybody who Bonham is.......they will know!!!!

  • @austinstroker11 well thanks for explaining yourself - and it's not like I'm some JFY fanboy, so no hurt feelings here :) I just think it's exaggerated to say he's full of shit. his skill or non-skill obviously brought him somewhere, according to your logic. anyway, you're right about the whole attitude thing, in the end it IS hard work that takes a musician somewhere. if you don't have the tools, your attitude is worth jack shit

  • @VentoRdrummeR Sorry you were offended, I really am! but there is No comparison between Bonham and this guy. John Fred is a good drummer but not great, Bonham was greatness!! And that is not a put down just being real, Again sorry you were offended, I work in Austin Tx where drummers are a dime a dozen, if you dont keep it real here you will get your feelings hurt a lot, Grow some thicker skin my friend, I like musician skill, not musician attitude, Skill will take you where attitude wont!!

  • @austinstroker11 umm... yeah. I can't stand it when people start bashing musicians as soon as they're compared to their idols. so he isn't a second bonham, whatever. no reason to put down a talented musician like john fred young like this. show me a "15 year old punk" who can play a dynamic and entertaining solo such as this one

  • hey jesse its me travis sup man

  • Really...................Really???? Nothin awesome about this!! Any 15 year old punk that has a trap set could do all this funamental crap. Do not compare this drummer to Bonham, there is no comparison.
