The UNConference on Trade n Dev's World Investment Report 2010 released 29 July shows FDI fell by 80% 2009 from '08!. Foreign investments brought in RM4.4 bi L(S$1.9 bil) last yr, compared to RM23.4 bil in 2008. Investments have been steadily declining n M'sia has been lagging in the region, having lost out to Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam n the Phillipines last yr.

Singapore was the Largest investor in Malaysia for the first four months of 2010, with RM1.8 bil (S$770 mil) worth of manufacturing-related investments, according to the Malaysian Investment Develoment Authority (MIDA).
Incidentally, Singapore was also named the biggest investor in Indonesia, locking in US$1.6 billion in sectors like transportation, telecommunications n warehhousing in 2009 according to the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board.
