rougeshdw no affense its not just the bass and drums that need the most responsibility every thing is equal in respoonsibility i play guitar and when one instrument is missing it seems like everything else is so yeah everything is equal to me

well said man. i play bass and write some songs for my band, but as far as responsibility goes for a band, the bassist and drummer need the most responsibility

Imagine a warrior without a weapon...that is a half-assed warrior. Now,Imagine a band without a bass player...THAT is a half-assed band!!!!
I play drums and yet I am learning bass as well because it is SO important. A band with only a guitar sounds like that squeaky fucking dog next door that you wanna kick to the moon. The bass grabs the soul of the percussive element the drums lay down and bridges it to the melody of the guitar(s). The bass line IS(true in any song that matters!)ths shit.

well it depends on what kinda music u play. like if u play jazzy stuff its a given. but if its like melodic death metal where u use floor drums alot i think u could get by without one
