The Constitution class of ships were all cruisers to begin with. (One cannot pack the power and weapons of a Heavy Cruiser into a frigate hull. Warships have a tendency to get bigger, not smaller as well.)
I loved the refitted constitutions. They have the best lines of any of the Star Trek ships.

I really like how the classic Constitution Class starship (U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701) from the original series is reunited with the refit Constitution Class starships from the Star Trek movies, including the U.S.S Yorktown, U.S.S. Lexington, and of course the One and Only U.S.S. Enterprise 1701 and 1701-A! Each starship separating and departing off to their own mission, adventure, and their own destination that will span the galaxies from this time forward!!

These are from a movie era Constitution mod pack for Star Trek BC. I know, I had my copy of the game hevily modded, Republic was always my favorite :P It had Enterprise and all her sisters in it, it's pretty sweet.

@RifleMan80 Well, inasmuch as CGI means Computer Generate Image, and this is an image from a computer game, it really is CGI...
