Happiness may be one thing to a person and something completely different to another. Nothing to really debate about, its about the journey towards happiness and knowing when we reach it. 9 times out of 10, money will not be the reason. Everyone has their happy medium. I wish more of the world were happy, maybe there would not be so much hatred and violence? Peace on earth?

@Choclongleggz 1) Just because something is in the Bible doesn't mean it's true.
2)Besides, In the Bible, it says," the LOVE of money is evil." It doesn't say MONEY, itself is evil."
That focuses on the person itself, not money. If someone loves money so much that they do evil for it, that's their fault not $.
By the way, I'm not rich. I'm low middle class but I do smart things with my $.

@cellardoor199991 its in the Bible. It has whatever meaning you want it to have. Nothing towards anyone just proof from people who have money and they allow the money to control them. Simple and short.
-
@Choclongleggz Anybody whos says Money Is The Root Of All Evil doesn't take responsibility for their own actions.
-
@Choclongleggz $ isn't the root of all evil. People are. $ doesn't do anything. If people DECIDE to be selfish and greedy and only live for $ that's their fault. Happiness is more than money, i know. I know there's rich people who aren't happy, but I also know rich people who are. I also know some poor people who aren't happy, either. Because $ allowed them to do the necessary things in life(i.e. volunteer, donate, be with family, travel, etc.) It's not the $ fault, it's the person.

@cellardoor199991 The fact that money is the root of all evil doesnt really mean that money is the pursuit of happiness. I think that happiness entails far more than what money can do for a person. There are plenty of wealth people with lots of money who are not happy at all, if anything, they are taking meds to keep from being so depressed.
-
The pursuit of happiness is doing things that you are content with and making it to the place you want to be. Happiness is making it through the pursuit and maintaining it however you feel.
-
Wait. Is there not a difference between the pursuit of happiness and happiness? I preffer contentedness. I was taugt that to know happiness one must know pain. Pain kinda sucks. ;_;
-
@cellardoor199991 my bad glad we're in agreement
-
@jubeikiba6 that's exactly what my point was.
I think Jefferson was actually going to right first "the pursuit of life, liberty, and property" (or something like that)...but then changed it to "happiness"

That's true what he said about $ but circumstances are different. These people feel like shit because that $ was given to them they didn't EARN it. Also they were spending it on mostly material B.S.
I spent 4 yrs. of military hell and now I get a shitload of $ just to go to college. I spend some $ on charity as well. Also I volunteer. $ is great! it's the mind and soul that needs training so people can make wise decision about $. Also $ affords you leisure TIME to spend it w/ people you love.
