WARNING: Includes footage through the 4x09 trailer. Unfortunately, I already have two strikes, so please remember to sub my back-up account: http://www.youtube.com/user/xsvevenstar. Thank you!! =)

Song: Chocolate
Artist: Snow Patrol
Fandom: Merlin
Pairing: Arthur/Gwen

For the first time in a while I made a vid with an actual theme in mind. Of course I was working on this at four in the morning, so I'm not really sure that I succeeded. Heh. But the basic thinking behind this video: While we know that eventually Arthur will come to always put Camelot first (or at least that's my prediction), at this point in his life he's ... not quite there yet, as evidenced by 3x10. I would argue that "You're the only thing that I love/It scares me more every day" captures the heart of what I'm attempting with this video -- Arthur's been raised to always put Camelot first, but when he falls for Gwen.... Thus this video deals with Arthur's struggle to balance his duty to Camelot and his love for Gwen, with a particular focus on his stumbling in that respect.

The opening was just an excuse for me to work out my constant flailing over Arthur's obsession with Gwen's hands and Gwen's obsession with Arthur's face. Don't mind me.

Audio:

Arthur: This is no way to achieve peace.

Arthur: And now that I'm king....
Gwen: I'm not appropriate?
Arthur: When I am king, things will be different.
Arthur: It seems so.
Gwen: This doesn't sound like the man I know.

  • Lovin it!!

  • @peacegal Thank you!

  • As ever, a confection of craft and creativity, pellucid and pulchritudinous by turns, and whilst "the final straw" takes this far beyond a roll in the hay, out into the uncharted depths of confluence, there is a lingering spark of the Dauphin, the "child of 25", which, for me, forges chasms in the background, echoing canyons in which can betimes be grasped the lingering strains of "I just can't wait to be king".

  • @Alcagaur1 Thank you so much!
