I want to believe that if I were Joe Paterno I would have done something more. I also want to believe that he did everything in his power, but I cannot. I understand the position he was in (though, I have never been), but I can't disagree more with his inaction to involve more people in this abhorrent crime. It is my strongest regret that some our most respective figures choose to be heroes in the brightest of moments but not in darkest...
While I can't agree more of his impeccable career. The issue of his death is tragic and a loss for all who knew him.
Since I never knew him I can't judge his character nor will I choose to define him.
I do, although, carry a strong opinion of his termination. Personally, what was done due to the severity of the accusations is justified, I believe. When we are dealing with the lives of children it is wrong to assume we know anything of anyone, and resumes or incredible sports records shouldn't m
I have a daughter bud, nice try. You still miss the point of this video, its showcasing the mans life and his legacy he left behind. It's obvious that you don't like Joe Paterno or Penn State, so why watch this?!?! He did his duty in reporting what he knew, plain and simple. His superiors were supposed to contact the police but never did til it was too late. How is that Joe Paterno's fault? He followed the chain of command to the T. Yours truly, "The Dickhead".
You clearly don't have any idea what your talking about, Joe Paterno reported directly to his superiors about what he knew and what he heard, it was their responsibility from there on to act upon it. Have some respect for the man that he was, and only hope that you can accomplish a fraction of what he achieved in his life. Fucking keyboard warriors..pathetic
@AnneLiesveld I don't want to imagine this happening at Nebraska, and I wouldn't wish this on any college (or child). At the same time, it could have happened at ANY campus. People need to think about that before they point the finger at Penn State.
@astrofrk Just googled LP age. 36 so would have been similar age to MM if He had witnessed one of their former assistants of similar age to TO doing things. Sick situation no matter how you look at it and I just am feeling so much like we are seeing sandusky's best days so anyone who feels like JP got worse treatment than JS won't feel that way for long. I do agre with what you said that it is easy to worry about details, but thinking about it like if it happened at NU helped tons
