Alma in colour! Fantastic!!!
But just imagine how this would have looked if HD television had been invented in Alma's day. Thinking about that is giving me palpitations! Pass the smelling salts! I think I'm going to faint! Lol!

Thanks for posting this. She's not just a singer, she's really an all-around entertainer. Love the cute way she's flirting with the audience.

yes I understand she was British...my musical background covers more than the U.S. I constantly am surprised how many artists did not make it in the U.S....so I write America was robbed....most peole read that as crystal clear.....other examples are Helen Shapiro and Craig Douglas, John Leyton, Billy Fury, to name a few....if you check your comment two months ago...you might understand...

Oh, I see. I just wish I'd have been around 20 years later than I was, because she died 6 years before I was even born.
And Alma appeared on American television all the time. She was on the Ed Sullivan show at least three times and appeared/performed on other US shows too, so at least you have footage of those performances if you can find them. Good luck on that. ;-)

Some people were just born to entertain...Alma comes to mind...thanks for the heads up on the Ed Sullivan clips. Helen Shapiro was also on his show at least once...he wanted her in a sexier dress and she told him she was only 15!!! YOU GO HEGS!!! She's my British hero!!!

Yep, love Helen Shapiro too. The richness of her voice is just something you don't get on female performers these days. I dunno, maybe it's a Jewish thing, Amy Winehouse was like that too, until the drugs and booze messed her up.
