Selena's POV

I groaned, as I fell to the ice cold, snowy, ground. I huffed, crossing my arms. I challenged Nick to skiing in the mountain nearby as we all were planning to go later that morning. He said he had never skied before.
Nick passed by my, swiftly, stopping to a curve. He urbanely pushed his ski goggles down, smirking at me.
Obviously, he was lying.
I rolled my eyes, getting up and walking over to the ski resort. I didn't want to verbally admit it, but he /was/ good at everything.
"Hey," I heard a voice, running after me as I was stomping to the resort.
I didn't even bother to turn around. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and turns around, pushing his hand off my shoulder. "What?!"
"Waffles, relax. I didn't mean to get you mad.." He said, sincerely.
"Oh, I'm not mad," I said, sarcastically. "I'm not mad at the fact that you beat me at every single.." I sighed, calming myself. I turned around, not even finishing the sentence. I opened the door, and the temperature changed from freezing to warm. I sighed, seeing everybody sipping on a steaming cup of hot chocolate or coffee, and decided to join them. I heard his footsteps follow my every step, and he took a seat next to me.
"So how'd the race go?" Kevin asked, multitasking on his blackberry. Danielle snatched his blackberry away and pouted.
"It was.." I started. "Ildakjedjedalkejd I lost aijdlejd." I mumbled.
"What?" Joe said, nearly screaming.
"Joe, quiet down. People are staring at us.. well mainly you." Demi said.
"I lost," I muttered.
"But she was close," Nick lied, trying not to make me feel as embarrassed. "I almost lost."
"Yeah, sure," I said.
"Really? When I was watching from the window, it looked like she fell a few hundr--" Joe said, but Demi smacked her hand over his mouth.
--
As we got home to the vacation houses, I took off my coat, hanging it up in the closet. I looked at myself in the mirror, seeing my reflection. The sweater, boots, gloves I was still wearing, and the shade of red cheeks from the cold.
I shivered, walking into the hallway leading to my room that I was sharing with Demi. She was sitting at the computer, checking something. I heard a knock from the door, right as I was taking my boots off. I sighed, opening the door to see Nick standing there.
"You're not still mad at me right?" He said, as I walked back to my bed, continuing to take my boots off. "You barely looked at me during the drive back."
"Not like it mattered. You were busy with Miley, anyways." I said, struggling to take off my right boot.
I pulled my boot off so forcefully that I fell back, nearly falling off my bed. As I sat back up, hearing Nick chuckle. "Did you come here to just laugh at me as always, Nick?"
"No, no," He said, frowning. He got on one knee, reaching down to help me take off my other boot. He handed it to me, and I muttered 'thanks'.
"Look," he started. "How about one more challenge? It'll be fair this time."
I raised my eyebrow. "'It'll be fair this time'?" I asked, quoting him. "So are you implying you lied when you said you didn't know how to ski?!"
I head Demi's head whip around to face us. "Ooh let me in on this, too, guys!"
"Fine, Demi get's to chose our challenge." I smirked. "Give me something easy, Dems." I whispered, bribing her.
"Hey, no bribes," Nick said, looking at me with a gorgeous crooked smile.
"How about.. no sweets till the end of the trip?" She beamed.
Nick scoffed, "Works for me."
"Hey, you're freaking diabetic, Jonas!" I said.
"Oh right. Hmm, the only way to make this fair is if I each give you different tasks," Demi said, thinking. "Oh! Nick, you get to drink no Diet Coke."
I burst out laughing, knowing that would last five seconds. He scrunched his eyebrows together, "What's hers?"
"No pickles and chocolate covered malt thingers," Demi said, shrugging. "Sorry, Sel."
Nick started uncontrollably laughing, "This should be fun."
"Yeah, you bet! Mr, I need Diet Coke or I'll die." I said, putting my hands on my hips.
"Are you kidding? I can live without Diet coke. Pickles are your freaking staple diet!" He jeered.
I didn't respond, knowing he was right. How the hell was I going to win?
-
Nick's POV
I watched her mock me, and knew that she was right. I couldn't live a few minutes without drinking diet coke. Heck, I had one in my hand right now.
"He's drinking one right now! Disqualified!" She laughed.
"Was not!" I said.
And we broke out into a fight like it was meant to be between five year olds over who gets the yellow crayon. She poked me in the chest a few times repetitively saying, 'Loser'. I replied with the good old 'Takes one to know one!'.
"You guys need to shut the heck up, and shake hands to make it official." Demi groaned, back on the computer.
I lent my hand out. "Ready to lose, Selena Marie Gomez?"
"So we're using our tacky middle names as threats now, Nicholas Jerry?" she said, emphasizing the 'Jerry' in my name.
I rolled my eyes, "Just shake my hand already, Waffles."
