If you read the label on these protein shots, it states "Collagen", as per my dietician for my VSG this is NOT the correct protein that should be ingested, the protein we need is animal protein not collagen, she told me to stick to the powders like Isopure or Whey
@SteffoBoy87 Protein can not store as fat, nor can does it poison your body... lol!!! It can however leach nutrients essential for bone growth. But that is only if you are getting a constant high level like 500 Grams a day...
Protein shots are good for you in moderation, however its not a substitute for protein sources such as eggs, lean meats lentils etc... these shots are to take in conjunctions with your regular protein intakes. They are used to increase the amino acids which the body needs to repair broken muscle fibers after a heavy work out. Thats why these are primarily for sports men. Too much protein as said can create poison and store as fat if overdosed. Do not take 3 or 4 a day, 1 a day is okay.
One problem, is if you dont have enought fat intake in your diet and since those are bulked high in protein, the shots, you can go into protein poisoning, being on the inside of the body builders group, ive seen guys buy the 12 shot packs of those and eat a whole box a day, less then a week later in the hospital from protein poisoning...
You look great! My date is Oct. 28th. Been postponed once already for insurance approval. So worrying something else will go wrong. Say a prayer for me please! Got some of these from Walmart too!! I spent so much on junk food so i hear ya about being able to afford them! Is the chocolate instant breakfast no sugar added carnation breakfast?? Thanx for sharing!!
Per my surgeon & nutritionist, those aren't "bad" for you, per se, but they don't feel they are the best possible protein source for us. Not as your only protein intake, in other words. Since you love chocolate, you might like my protein shake I've been having in the morning: 8 oz Calorie Countdown milk, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 2 Splenda, 1 packet Starbuck's instant coffee. OMG, delicious!
