Do you have any idea how many animals die everytime a crop is harvested? How many ecosystems are destroyed by farmland? What's funny is that many people that are vegetarians also only eat organic vegetables which means that they need even more space to produce the same amount of food.
Face it: you're an apex predator and no matter what you do, stuff is going to die. I doubt that endangered species are used in design tho.
