Home on the Range is inspired by the content, humor, and subversion of Alison Pebworth's drawings of the American West through a compilation of video song covers of Brewster M. Higley's 1870's poem "Home on the Range." These include: James Richards 1939 Florida State Prison recording cut to the expansion of the west and decimation of the Buffalo; Vernon Dalhart's original 1927 recording cut to faux Indian Sign Language; Gene Autry's 1943 recording cut to TV depictions of Cowboys & Indians in suburbia; and Neil Young's recording cut to TV speeches and coverage of A.I.M. during the 1970's.

Home on the Range plays on a 1957 Durant TV Console and the video rolls vertically intermittently. It debuted in Other Possibilities a solo exhibition Alison Pebworth's drawings at Michael Rosenthal Gallery April 2010.
