PLEASE WATCH IN HD. (hopefully this annoying buzz goes away)

This is my most recent project. It was my first multitrack with doubled parts. There are 8 different parts (S1,S2,A1,A2,T1,T2,B1,B2) on 16 tracks (2 of each).
My original plan was to release this when I reached 1500 subscribers, but it appears I'm a little bit late.

You may be wondering (or not!) why I am close miked, but it sounds as if I'm in a large room with overhead room mikes. That is the sound I was going for and with the help of my friend Tristan I was able to accomplish it by running my voice through two separate reverb filters, one after another. Pretty natural sounding effect! I was trying to simulate the great cathedrals in Austria where I sang this with the U of S Greystone singers!

This is a piece called Duh Tvoy Blagiy, by Pavel Chesnokov. My first multitrack in a different language, in Russian, the title of the piece means "Let Thy Good Spirit." This was introduced to me a few years ago with my choir the Greystone Singers at the U of S. This was my favorite piece and we had the pleasure of singing it in cathedrals and churches throughout Austria and Czech Republic. I attempted to do this multitrack probably twice before this and both times was unsatisfied with the result (you may notice the Soprano is slightly abrasive sounding), but this time I like it :). Hopefully this recording can be a trip down memory lane for whichever Greystone singers of 2006-2007 under the direction of Gerald Langner.

Duh Tvoy Blagiy, nastavit miia na zemlia pravu. Alliluiya, alliluiya, alliluiya.

Let Thy good Spirit led me on a level path. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
-Communion Hymn for Holy Pentecost.

No, the recording does not have any autotuning or melodyne. Youtube can make it sound a little robotic but it sounds pretty decent in HD, you just gotta give it a bit of time to render if your internet isn't incredibly fast.

  • speaking as a totally paid-up member of the danny fong fan club, i thought the first two thirds was a bit loud and hard-edged. maybe i would need to understand the words. i was glad i stuck it out though because the ending was amazing, though more tenderness would be welcome. :)

  • @jd7x7jd Thanks, I can easily admit that the first part is a little abrasive. But I couldn't do much better considering how high it was in my range.

  • How many tracks of each voice do you have? This sounds a lot like a real choir. Well done!

  • @unclesaboin 2 of each, but each part is split in 2.

    2x Sop1

    2x Sop2 etc..

total of 16 tracks, closed miked but sent through two reverb filters to sound like it only has room microphones in a large area.

  • dude props. your falsetto is on pitch, and you pronunciation is just fine. id like to see any of these other people do better. you sang it amazingly. and your bass is just amazing danny. keep up the good work. you should try more kings singers stuff. seriously, these people on youtube are obviously not musicians in anyway. im doing this with my quartet ( im arranging it for TTBB ) and hoping it will sound. . . okay haha. acapella for the win. cheers mate.

  • @funnytitties11 Thanks! Good luck to you and your group!

  • Pretty amazing. Great work! Thanks for your dedication and for continuing to post entertaining and quality multitracks...

  • plz where can i find the sheet music

  • @dbosh09 The pronunciation definitely could've used work, yeah, but his falsetto was amazing :P

  • dude, i'm in shock. i sang this with my choir in english under the name 'this holy night'. i think it's a different arrangement of 'let thy holy presence' or something. but i could NOT find it anywhere. thanks so much for somehow knowing what i wanted and putting this extremely well done video of the piece up. :) great stuff. you just gotta love the low E's in the bass2. i sang tenor2, but couldn't resist jumping down for that part :P

  • Shit, this is really good!

And everything else you have got as well.

  • I would really know how exactly large is your vocal extension. You got great sense of rythm so you can control breathing in any canon you sing (tenore, basso, soprano). This song is particularly difficult cause the language is a real tongue-twister and sometimes it cuts breathing. But your strength is that velvet controlled voice, and I hope you'll never change it even when vocal cords will become harder. I really appreciate you danny.

  • shit this is good.

  • If you or your brother can handle singing a B below the bass clef staff, look into "Salvation is Created," (or Spaséniye, sodélal yesí in phonetic pronunciation of the Russian). Gorgeous work Tschesnokoff composes. I admire your singing very much! I have listened to several of your tracks, as well as some by Rendezvous. Thanks for sharing and sharing your talents! If you ever come to Ohio in the States, please pass it along.
