A statesman who can only operate under scripted conditions is not worth the carbon dioxide that leaves his mouth. This is why Kerry O Brien is one of the great political reporters. Once he is on to something, he latches on like a Pit Bull and no amount of verbal spin will make him let go. He gave the same treatment to Kevin Rudd. Rudd was quick on his feet and as slick as teflon but he still got a tough time from Kerry. Watching him go to work against some one as feeble as Tony was just brutal.
