Streets of Willow (2/7/2010): MR-S Smackdown Brought by an NA6C Miata

Irritating, and yet strangely satisfying I was while racing this MR-S. I don't know what his problem was, but 2 laps of nonsense will drive any track enthusiast mad. Being in an "Advanced" group in Speed Trial USA really does mean "Race" group there, so I partook.

Time to show up what a real driver can do with only a junkyard chassis, bone-stock 90whp and rolly-polly suspension and good sticky tires, and without fancy toys like on that MR-S "racecar".

Part of it seems like you are frustrated because he may be a novice racer.... Least that is what it looks like to me. The other is you are jealous of the acceleration on it, when clearly you are a better driver with less power. Either way, I can understand why you would be pissed. It almost seems intentional he is slowing down and then speeding up. I think he is just an idiot though or new to it. Unless you personally know him to be "Advanced" like yourself.

shitiest mr2 driver i've ever seen...i'm ashamed to say he's part of the mr2 family...i would have politely tapped his rear bumper to signal his ass to move. Sorry man, but he gives mr2 owners a bad name..that ricey 1zz sounds TERRIBLE. props for a stock suspensioned 90whp miata laying the smackdown!

the guy in the mr-s showed his true self at the last few moments, getting too excited and not being able to drive correctly, smacking the limiter, mis-shifting, missing lines...

The MR-S' lines seemed off, he seemed to want to go really really wide into every corner. Really wacky to see someone drive like that.

I understand the frustration though, nothing is worse than spending good money on a HPDE to just be held up on folks who don't check their mirrors or point by.

Nice driving and excellent car control, though. I bet you wished that Miata had just a bit more power. The 'friendly' wave after the middle finger was a nice touch, haha.

@Viktor46 true, my gf has a mr-s, my buddy has an eg civic with skunk 2 suspension, and I swear the stock mr-s handles better, its a crazy and quick little car.

i hate people who drive overbuilt cars with expensive name brand items and silly crap on their cars. I also hate the fact that 95% of those drivers think their fast and if they actually are fast, its cuz they a have 400HP huge turbo or something stupid like that that they bought for 3000 dollars!!!.

This reminds me of Hooked on driving event, lots of fast cars going slow lol. Great driving, I was there that day in A group too with white NB and blue bumpers.
