It's Just a Game

This was my entry for the Gametrailers "User BOO-vie" contest in October. The idea of the contest was to create something scary and videogame related. I chose a penciled motion comic, because that would be quick and easy to do (you only had 2 or 3 weeks). The grand prize was $500. I didn't win, but they liked my entry so much they ended up giving me $50 anyway (even though there was no $50 runner-up prize to begin with).

This "motion comic" got me to draw more than I probably have in years. Getting the idea and storyboarding it out took a while and in the end I had to sit down and draw 12-18 hours a day for three days solid to get all the art done. It took another four or five days to get it in to Sony Vegas and "animate" it. The pacing is kind of crap, but I worked right up to the deadline, basically. There was nothing I could do to improve the pacing short of ripping everything out and starting over, and I didn't have time for that.

Ah, a Ring concept. Nice. At least, that's what comes to my mind. Reminds me of a nightmare I had as a kid because of one game's ending.

Actually, that's a really cool animation Blaze.

It is actually creepy with the sort of fear and apprehension you get with horror movies, and that ironic thing at the end with the TV was certainly a nice touch.
