You are correct. Read the Dasam Granth, read it for knowledge. However, the teachings within this Granth should not be applied within a Sikh's life as this was never the command of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Guru Granth Sahib ji is the ultimate ocean of knowledge. Through the knowledge of Guru Granth Sahib ji, the difference between right and wrong can be told. If you read the Dasam Granth, it is apparent that some of it's concepts do not fall in line with the teachings of our Guru.

Gurbani is only within Guru Granth Sahib ji. Not every word of every Guru is Gurbani. Only the teachings within Guru Granth Sahib ji have been given the status of Gurbani. I am not aware of this book "Brahm Kawach" but I recall that Guru Hargobind Sahib ji has not written anything that can be classified as "Gurbani" or even poetry.

y not read a bani of our gurus the gurus read the quran for gyaan we shud read sri dasam granth not as a guu but for vidya and gyaan

@amriteighteen apaarently not enough because i dont see alot of singhs coming forward to kill all these sache saude ???????????????? and it is not a ballad of chandi guru gobind singh ji wrote chandi di vaar as a praise of akkaal and waheguru in the form of chandi and it says in chandi di vaar durga is weak and useless without the naam and maharajs kirpa so if 'people' say it was writtenby hindus y would the decrease their goddess
