First test run of my sand plotter prototype. Apologies for the poor focus in parts - I'm just coming to terms with my camera's unsuitability for video work.

The eventual goal is to build a coffee table with a sand plotter under glass; this is a prototype to test out the method. I'm reasonably happy with it, apart from how unsteadily the bearing moves; I'm not sure how to improve on that, as nothing I've tried so far has made much of a difference. Suggestions are welcome.

The plotter is controlled over bluetooth; power is supplied via a slip ring in the middle of the rotating disc. Pretty much the entire thing is built from laser cut parts (those that aren't off-the-shelf) with the exception of the gears on each stepper, which are 3D printed.
