Dick Wellstood in a live performance March 16, 1987 at Cafe des Copains in Toronto, Canada. Wellstood was one of the true stride pianists of all time, and he proves it here with a wonderful version of an old waltz from the 1890's. Sidewalks of New York, by Chas. B. Lawlor and James W. Blake.

Welstood got better and better as he got older. The 80s recordings are almost entirely magnificent!

Great posting, Wellstood sounds more like Donald Lambert than any other pianist.
