  • Obviously, I would have rather not hit anything but very glad it was not another car.

I've left the car at a neighbours (farmer)

Nice large dry barn so that I can get stuck in about it.

I'll take some measurements first and check everything is where it should be.

I need o/s wing and door. Not sure what to do about rear quarter panel.

I'll see if I can model it back into shape.

Parts are coming in thick and fast now through the GTIROC so I shall have it repaired and be back soon.

  • Needless to say, I was not very happy. "why me" has come to mind a few times.

I jumped out to check the damage, unhitched the video camera to take some footage but a marshal told me to turn the camera off.

I pressure washed the car down, and took it for a drive. It still drives straight, the steering wheel is still in the correct position (tracking feels correct...amazed)

The tyre wall worked well and absorbed most of the energy.

  • Thanks for saying hello Nick and for your comments! I remember chatting to Rob, nice guy and he was loving his day out. I did get some close footage of him on the track before passing. I also saw your Audi... lovely car and take my hat off to you for usinging it was intended. Sure you had a great time driving it. Hope we can meet again so that I can say Hi!

  • No, I mean over the top and I didn't say it was his fault - it's a race track not a race. Sometimes it pays to hang back even if you know you could get past, in the end there is nothing to gain and everything to lose. Risk vs. reward.

  • nick5872....guy in the corsa totally over the top????....you mean fast??....its a race track mate!!!...perhaps your just a little pissed off he passed you!! he has been going to knockhill for over 4 years now with only a few minor incidents! he was forced off the road by a subaru that moved over on him while he passing,o/s wheels just hit the grass slightly, and from then on in he was just a passenger just as braveheart was."not surprised he smashed it" what a stupid comment to make mate!!!

  • shame about that corsa being in the way!! the chaps a bit wild like. good videos all the same. Im Lacky (silver 106 with only 1 brake light) see you at the next one all going well.

  • Thought I'd post a note to say hello. I'm Nick I was driving the Black Audi RS4 Avant although I dont think I was in any of your sessions. My mate Rob has the Rover 45 he said he spoke to you. Great job on the videos. Real shame about your car the guy in the Corsa was being totally over the top all day, not surprised he smashed it. Did someone shunt you from behind?

    Cheers Nick
