This is such an awesome idea! Your finished product blew me away! Now I want to try one for myself but my question is how did you get the pictures from the paper onto the cover? Did you free hand draw them or is there some trick to it that I missed?

Thank you. :D I printed out the pattern I wanted. Then took the led out of a mechanical pencil, held down the paper print out on the leather where I wanted the pattern to appear, and traced it onto the damp leather. The pressure from the tip causes the surface of the moist leather to sink in and retain your traced pattern.

Good idea. So I just need the size of the Bible cover kit. Carve it with a leather swivel knife and tool a design on the leather. I would make my leather strips on the top and bottom a little longer.

And then all you will have to do is seal it.

Beautiful cover, but the Nook didn't look very secure when the cover was open. Maybe the ereader needs to be secured in some way? Double sided sticky back tape, on the back of the reader, maybe.

Hello. Thank you for the compliment. The leather is actually pretty snug, so it's never come loose when open by accident. I did have one viewer who had the same concern say she sewed 2 small diagonal strips of black elastic near the inner top and bottom corners of the nook (near the spine) to pull up over the exposed inner corners to make it more secure on hers.

It really turned out nice! I’m a novice at leathercraft and enjoying watching leathercraft videos to get ideas for my projects. Since you’ve never been taught the “proper” way, you’ve figured out how to do it “your” way! Your techniques are really quite clever. I’m definitely going to adopt some of your techniques! Oh and by the way…Allons-y!!!
