I was lucky that day with the Command Bus. It seemed that my bus was the last non-overcrowded bus (about 8am). Lower Manhattan was a zoo with all the Staten Island people getting off the ferry only to find no trains running.

Why did the news leave out the fact that Kensington was also hit by the tornado? The news went on and on about Bay Ridge but ignored you guys. I was "lucky" enough to see the damage from the Command bus while we drove up Church Ave that day (Wed).

I have been wondering about that for days. I guess since we did not have power loss or many roofs blown off, we were not as "big" for the news. Actually is was kind of anticlimactic for me cuz I was out there early waiting to tell my story! I saw it coming and slamming into my building and that tree ripped up on the corner. Command Bus huh?? Those were crowded as heck with the trains shut down!

They were not close to each other to knock each other down, if that is what you mean. The tornado actually ripped them up out of the earth and they landed on the cars and in the street.
