@haterproof99 now we have nikki minage and others like her who put no thought in there music, just a catchy hook and they will make millions and people think that these are our representatives. You are truly right there is a system that wants to keep the masses dumb and uneducated to control them. It's like lupe says state run radio. We as a people as a race need to step outside the box and start looking with our eyes to truly see what the illuminated ones are truly doing to us brother

@haterproof99 Yes that's true we can't really blame some of these artist out here. But I hold them responsible for when they do get into the lime light and instead of trying to fight the system they become the systems bitch. I mean our people have struggled for years in a country that wasn't made for us and we still have a long way to go and these rappers really feed the stereotype of black people just being uneducated or dumb. I am proud of being a black man and we were once kings and queens

@narutoxv22 I guess my white privledge comment stemmed from a couple things. Its just hard for me to knock a black man whos making money in this country. Secondly, I consider trap music to be like pop if that makes sense. I could care less what they are saying I just like the vibe I guess. All I'm saying is I feel like blaming the artists is not the right thing to do, we should be looking at the bigger picture, like whos putting them on the radio.

@narutoxv22 I have honestly lost alot of faith in this country. The day that I hear that K Rino song on the radio is the day pigs fly. There is most def a grand conspiracy to keep people uneducated and under control. The people trying to fund that censorship bill are the same people signing trap rappers, its no coincedence.
-
@narutoxv22 Ur absolutely right and it makes me sad that people follow trap stars instead of real lyricists. I think I was lucky to grow up in a community that encouraged kids to think outside of the box. I just listened to K Rino and yeah I've done my research on the illum and free masons etc... very interesting song. Another disappointing thing about music now a days is people can't/don't care enough to listen to lyrics... all they hear is the hook.

@haterproof99 u should listen to k rino grand deception

@haterproof99 Lupe to step outside society's box and show the youth there's much more to life then slagging bricks. We as a culture have to make the effort to change. Music can be on of those things that we change and get exposure to these kids and let them take it from there. It can be a great catalyst for us as a race moving forward and change our whole mind set
-
@haterproof99 I mean kids who have never even seen a trap are trying to emulate these rappers because most of the time when your a kid you don't know to look up to your parents you look up to these rappers and athletes because they have money, cars, and women. I mean every time I turn on the t.v. it's some mind numbing show that you really can't get anything out of. It's so ingrained in our culture and we need more rappers like
-
@haterproof99 You have a great point in that we as parents have to show our kids that there's more to life then just conforming and thinking inside of the box. I am a parent myself and we don't even really listen to the radio in the car we have the ipod with music that can stimulate the mind. I can understand that you think rap music can be a scapegoat but in all thats how our race is depicted and we need more rappers to say this is not all life has to offer.

@narutoxv22 It's hard to get my point across using the limited text on youtube. What I'm trying to say is its not as simple as changing the lyrical messege in music to change our culture. I think more responibility has to be put on parents, teachers and our government to let kids know the difference between right and wrong. Its so deeply ingrained I think its going to take generations for things to change. I'm interested to hear what you have to say about the parenting aspect.
I like what your doing with analysing the lyrics, to help people understand what Lupe is saying. I think this is why some people under estimate him, what he is saying is just over their heads. I don't get everythinh he says, but part of the fun of listening to Lupe is finding out what he says. Lupe is the best dead or alive.
