LNER V2 Green Arrow went down the light railway a couple of years back as well

oh right at least something had been down in the last 10 years but i is a shame that nothing gets down there, and i bet you wish you had your camera with you that day as well.

Traffic went to Grimsby Docks in the 80's and 90's, even the odd one in the early 2000's. I worked on Alexandra Dock for 6 months, and in that time, I saw 2 60's and a 66 on steel coils/slabs. Also seen footage in the 80's and 90's of 20's, 37's and 47's on the light railway, regulars on the Tioxide workings.

your right it is a shame not much goes down, but i thought network rail was on about having more traffic down the light railway, and also when did traffic go on to grimsby docks, that must have been in the early 90's and late 80's surely.

Last train down the Light Railway was a couple of Wednesday's ago, Network Rail's 150. Also went up to Barton. I believe a signal wire snapped at Pyewipe Road when it was needed, too! Proves how much it's used, sadly.
