Concerned about immigration and still voted for the Labour "Commie" Party who deliberately instigated an "Open door" Immigration policy. Labour hoped their own voters were too thick or indifferent to realize what they were doing . @Sangrenegra9 Yes, a lot of people are based on what they see in the Sun and Mail. Then a lot of people are brainwashed through education and the BBC, by the liberal elite. A lot of working class people have just been in the real world long enough, to pick up some common sense. People are fed up with immigration, and the insanity that surrounds it. We can't even deport one terrorist. We're a tiny island, thats full to the brim.

@Sangrenegra9 Powell just said what he saw, if he had a political agenda, he wouldn't have made that speech. He put his career and life at risk by doing it. The working class people in their numbers, agreed with him. But the liberal elite and tiny minority, got their way. He also spoke out against the fading of discipline in schools and the disaster of entering the EU, again, the working class were tricked by Heath, and lost.

@Sangrenegra9 I do walk and talk to people. I keep forgetting to ask the well off people if they're middle class. Things have changed in over 100 years, they didn't know what havoc communism would cause, or that it'd be a disaster. We didn't have the welfare state then. Things have spiralled out of control.

Somebody (I forget who) once said you can always hire one half of the poor to shoot the other half. The working class are taught to hate immigrants, when they should be hating those who spout hatred about immigrants even as they lay off another portion of the workforce to increase their own salary, close a factrory to outsource cheaper labour abroad, or move money they owe in taxes to the Cayman Islands.

'The working class see what they see' - do they? Most opinions I hear in my local are ill-supported and based on what appears in Murdoch's media (owned by a serial liar and tax-evader). More higher-brow stuff comes from the Daily Mail (owned my another tax-dodger) and the Telegraph (the Barclay brothers - another pair of tax-dodgers!).

With such patriotic and honest 'elites' giving opinions, who do you think is being decieved here?

I am more than well acquainted with Powell's speech - misinformed, as he blamed migration itself rather than lies peddled by the press. The same thing happened to the Irish, and the Jews and Chinese before them (people like Dickens or Conan-Doyle didn't have politcal agendas, they just wrote what they saw.)

@BENJIMANBREEG33 - The middle class no longer really exists - if you actually take a walk around and talked to people, you're in for a big surprise.

That 'communism book' was written by a painter/decorater who lived in fear of becoming ill or incapacitated - it would have meant prison for him and the workhouse for his daughter. Cameron's 'Big Society' (Bog Society more like) is bringing back to this age every single day.

And the mass's that have migrated, haven't all integrated so well, cause they haven't had to. Try reading the full script of Enoch Powell's speech. The working class, see what they see, in real life. Unemployment was well on the increase during Gordon Browns awful premiership,he continued spending money we simply didn't have,he allowed the financial regulator to fall asleep at the wheel and although bailing the Financial institutions out was the right thing to do the terms on which they were assisted weren't in any way tough enough.

I agree that things aren't easy for any of us,myself included,but the spending had to stop and the waste had to stop.At least we can voice these opinions in UK
