On June 3, 2011 legendary Black Panther leader and political prisoner Elmer "Geronimo" Pratt died of an undisclosed medical ailment, possibly a heart attack or stroke, just after midnight at his home in Imbaseni village, 15 miles from Arusha, Tanzania in Africa where he has lived for the past five years. For 27 years, Pratt had sat in prison, convicted of a murder he didn't commit until the courts ruled that he was unjustly incarcerated and set him free in 1997. This video, which has never been released before, is of Pratt two months after his release at the 1997 Congressional Black Caucus Conference in Washington , DC during a forum and testimonial on police brutality. Many of the attendees were seeing a free Geronimo Pratt for the first time ever. Shot by Daryle Lamont Jenkins.
