could this band have been any better? stephen stills perfect pitch in what was probably a tough place to hear anything while he sang. so great.

Stephen Stills looks like Peter Tork of the Monkees in this video. Stephen even wears his hair like Peter and wears a very similar shirt or the same shirt that Peter wore on an episode of The Monkees. At Woodstock, Stephen looks like he's more comfortable looking like himself and sticks with it. Stephen starts looking much more sexy and yummy than before.

You are correct in writing the record companies were notorius back-in-the- day for feigning live performance however this group could and possibly did this performance. I admit the mix is damn clean .and if it came off the mixing board it might be possible, but it was 1967 and who ever heard of ethics back then. But one must also one must consider the personalities involved , especially Neil Young , David Crosby has corroberated the point on performance back then. So.... I'm just sayin'

This and Bluebird, two of my all time favourite songs, but you are dreaming if you think ANY of this was live. It was standard procedure for the record companies to offer alternate recorded takes to give the "illusion" of a "live" performance.

I saw them live at the Orlando Sports Stadium opening for the Beach Boys and they sounded like the record only BETTER...front row seat right in front of Neil and Stephen....we were probably the only folks there who were there to see Buffalo Springfield...but they won over a lot of fans that night.
