U.S. Presidential Democratic nominee Walter (Fritz) Mondale and running mate Geraldine Ferraro started their 1984 campaign against President Ronald Reagan on Labor Day in both NYC and Merrill, Wis. Also in attendance were Wis. Governor Tony Earl and Wis. Rep. Dave Obey. This video was taken at the Merrill fairgrounds and was edited to a few short clips. The video is shaky because I was standing on a chair behind the audience. The major networks and local TV stations had their video teams on a platform next to the stage. I have their news segments recorded but am not uploading them do to copyright laws. President Ronald Reagan won the November election by a landslide, winning 49 states.
