Tony Posawatz, Vehicle Line Director, Global Electric Vehicles & Chevrolet Volt, updates the attendees on the latest developments for the Volt and the newly announced Buick hybrid crossover. TheAutoChannel.com has the complete story on everything automotive.
Actually, the Volt priced at $40,000 is about right. With our government tax rebates, it should go down to about $33,000. That is great for a car that is two cents a mile on electricity and goes well over 100 miles per gallon. Even a hybrid is not half of that.

if it costs about US$ 15,000 I would think to get one.. but 40,000 is far from the reality, guys.. pls we need it cheaper

In response to the Volt's "230" ad, Nissan just announced that their Nissan Leaf gets an "equivalent" of 367 mpg, and it will be priced competitively with the Toyota Prius.
The young consumer demographic that is interested in "eco" cars couldn't buy a $40K+ Chevy Volt if they wanted to.
If someone can afford a high-performance electric car, then they'll go with the Tesla Model S. Tesla Motors is an inspiring new company, but GM is a depressing company that eats up billions of our tax dollars.
