Hello there, this cake was made as a practice cake. I just got an airbrush gun and used it all over the cake. Also, I used some new technics for rolling out the fondant.....Great DVD called "FLAWLESS FONDANT" highly recommended.

  • I mix a tablespoon of GIN (alcoholic drink) for every 1/4 teaspoon of luster.

  • Hi,

cris I adore your cakes they are beautiful. Can you please let me know what classes did you take to learn this art? also, please send the info as to where you purchased the airbrush and cake boards.

    You are the best!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

  • Hello there, and thank you for the compliments. I have a link on my page for the airbrush and as for the cake boards, I get them from my local Michaels! Whe I got started, all of my supplies came from Michaels. I didn't take any classes, I just bought a book from WILTON at Michaels, it's called CELEBRATING FONDANT.....it's has ur basics....hope this helps!

  • HI, I would like to see you cover a cake with fondant and airbrush, it would be very very helpful:)

  • Hi there, I would love to do that one day...probably not in the near future due to my schedule, but as soon as things slow down, I will be recording some tutorials...thanks for the interest.

  • Like the simple design. Thanks for sharing what you learned. How long does it take to spray on the lustre dust and does the colour rub off?

  • Hi there, the lustre dust took about 2 minutes to spray on and once it dryes, it doesnt rub off..but if u toutch the cake (wich u probably wouldn't anyway) a bit of lustre will come on your finger....but the cake will stay the same.....hope this helps.

  • where can we buy lustre dust?

  • Hi,

Cris I adore your cakes they are beautiful and nice!!!!!!!!!!♥

  • The finish on this cake is really nice.

  • Wow you airbrushed this cake? Wow it looks great!

  • This looks lovely! Can you please tell me, did you use the Lasting Impressions mold for your gerbera daisies, or something else? I'll be making some gerbera daisies on a cake in a few months.

I just got an airbrush yesterday, can't wait to play with it. :-) Did you spray the luster dust mixed with alcohol thru the airbrush as a second step, after the color was sprayed on, or did you mix luster dust in with your colors.

    TIA!

  • omgosh its so pretty i love it!!

    you've really progressed :)

i want to start making cakes :)

  • Cristina, Love that green how did you mix it? Please provide me info on airbrush, thank you.

  • Hi cris,

Your cakes are absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing with all of us. I specially like the green and brown cake you did for a birthday I believe. That was gorgeous!

Cris, can you tell me what cutter you used for the flowers? That's a beautiful flower.

    thanks

    rin

  • you can over the board with foil and that will take the ruffled edges away on a fondant covered board.
