In the wake of hurricane Katrina, life was not easy. Most people struggled and worked hard to bring some sort of normalcy back to our daily lives. Others however, took the easy and selfish way out. This is a song about those people... I personally like the end of the song the best--feel free to comment on Blake's song... Please also check out some of Blakes other videos: An Elton John Medley and another original work.

  • @kookaburraify I agree with kookaburraify, people write songs all the time about suicide and they hear what other people say and repeat it. I hear professionals say that all the time and they don't realize that the person who is in distress is not being selfish it's just that the person know's what going on and it could that its severe enough (the situation that is) to think or act upon it. But to tell someone who is going through or saying that person is selfish and an easy out is arrogant.

  • Suicide is NOT a selfish act. I mean come on what must someone be going through to decide that to stop breathing is the only way out? If you've never experienced severe depression and absolute despair then you wouldn't understand. You've got a beautiful voice, maybe just a little naiive.

  • I was almost one of those people...

  • Hey everyone, this is the guy singing the song. I have my own Youtube channel now if you'd like to check it out. All the comments and rebuttals down there were all made by my brother. I won't say rather I agree or disagree with all the comments made, but I don't think songs need explaining. Then we might as well just talk...

  • In California, we have fire, quakes, floods every year. People die. The San Andreas Fault will go with an 8.0 or 9.0. Some of us prepare. The others are selfish - they just pretend they won't die. It's easy. Insane? Suicidal? What about the loved ones and neighbors? Too selfish to care about "the suffering of those around you" and family far away? Sure. Not the same thing you say? Well, we just disagree. But, your song is beautiful and honest. Thank you. I'll shut up now. Peace.

  • "only add to the suffering of those around you". It's an insane act. Why does it "add to the suffering of those around you"? Such people are selfish enough to be angry and hurt, without consideration to that insanity. What about humility and forgiveness?

What about demanding safer levies? Oh - that's not easy, is it? It would require a selfless giving of time for political action. Strong minds and will. Some minds are weaker than yours. "Judge not..." (from an old and divine book ). <3

  • Amazing job

  • I understood exactly what the message was and you are a very talented artist.

  • ther'es already a song by Pantera entitled suicide note and it was much better. : )
