'Parel' Fandi Ahmad na 23 jaar terug in Groningen

Na 23 jaar was Fandi Ahmad weer terug in Groningen. De 'Parel van Maleisië' was de grote verrassing van oud-FC Groningen tijdens de Open dag van de FC. Fandi werd naar Groningen gehaald dankzij de inzet van Henk de Haan die altijd contact heeft gehouden met Fandi. De 'Cruyff van het oosten' speelde van 1983 tot 1985 voor FC Groningen en kende zijn hoogtepunt met de 2-0 tegen Inter Milan.

Yes they have a huge pic of him in the football club. Delighted to see his face there. My husband's from Groningen so he does us Singaporeans proud of his achievements!

After 23 years it was Fandi Ahmad back in Groningen. The "Pearl of Malaysia" was the big surprise of former FC Groningen at the open day of the FC. Fandi was taken to Groningen thanks to the efforts of Henk de Haan, who always kept in contact with Fandi. The 'Cruyff of the East "from 1983 to 1985 played for FC Groningen and reached its height with the 2-0 against Inter Milan. Fandi Ahmad is a true blue son of Singapore .Would be great if Fandi coach the Lions in it's comeback to Malaysia Cup.
