http://www.timesofearth.com/Worldnews/?NT=0&nid=13079 - The blast coincided with a trip to Pakistan by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. She was three hours' drive away in the capital, Islamabad, when the blast took place.

Islamabad, Pakistan - A car bomb has exploded in a crowded market in the northwest Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing at least 100 people and wounding about 200, officials have said.
A huge blaze erupted after the explosion on Wednesday, which came just hours after Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, arrived in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, for talks with government officials.

"The death toll is more than 100. Most of them are women and children," Sahib Gul, a doctor at the city's main hospital said.

"We are facing a shortage of blood. I appeal on citizens to come and donate blood," another doctor said, the AFP news agency reported.

The blast caused serious damage in the area, and rescue workers warned that people were trapped under collapsed shops and buildings at the site.

Inayat Ali Khan, a local journalist at the scene of the blast, said the casualties are increasing.

"The smoke is billowing out of the scene and the fire is not yet extinguished," he told AFP news agency.
"The bomb disposal squad are on the location and are looking for clues on what type of explosive was used," .

"From there they'll be able to tell what organisation was behind the bomb making, because they'll be able to link it to previous attacks.

"This goes to show that the security situation in Pakistan is very delicate as the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, is in Pakistan for the first time."

The blast comes as Pakistan's military advances an operation against members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the country's semi-autonomous tribal region of South Waziristan.

The army launched its offensive nearly two weeks ago, pitting around 30,000 Pakistani troops against an estimated 10-12,000 Taliban fighters.

Since the assault began, the military says it has killed at least 231 fighters, and lost 29 soldiers.

More than 125,000 people have been registered as displaced by the Pakistan military's offensive in South Waziristan since October 13, UN officials have said.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has said that humanitarian access to people in need remains the key challenge for agencies, given the volatile security environment in the displacement areas.

The military has given no figures for civilian casualties, but those fleeing say many people caught in the middle were killed.

  • @slayyyyn taliban should fuck your mum and sisters with their mad dick up their ass holes and you should watch that movie every night before going to bed...Fucking Thankless afghanS

  • taliban shud fight the kuffar slave of usa pakistani army and governement.

  • Another thing subservient american clones keep missing (typical of american stupidity, like the chinese, americans/canadian clones soak up media and government lies)... there were NO public bombings in either Iraq, Afghanistan or Pakistan UNTIL the US sent their military to illegally invade, occupy, bomb and murder over a million citizens. Course that won't dent your brainwashing.. americans are not free to think.. too brainwashed by US depraved Nazi style "justice" system and police state.

  • Taliban is just one of many tribes, not the cause of every evil. Of course it was supported by the US until the illegal invasion. US is a terrorist dictatorship that always trains and supports jihadists. Stupid Americans once they get a buzzword for an evil cartoon villain in their head, they keep repeating it like idiots. It just so happens that Taliban are only 10% of the Afghan resistance. Afghans are patriotic and trying to throw the invaders out, just like French patriots resisted the Nazis

  • The best way to take taliban is to fix GPS tracking systems in the items they receive and fix in cameras when reporters meet their leaders, present some items where the tracking system is hidden and after all away...during night just bomb them and finish... keep on eliminating the leaders one after another...ask the militants to join army and receive pay checks..hand over the foriegn militants to respective country governments...inform big cash prize if bomber surrenders and to be protected !

  • just shiites & woman

no sunniis or palestinians, no cause for concern.

  • Taliban are now taking revenge
