@AndyF1996 Obviously it wasn't meant to be real 8-bit, or else there would be a lot of changes. But the bass just sounds plain bad.
-
@pokemoneinstein it's strictly meant to cture the nostalgia, not actually be 8 bit
-
@kztar621 One octave makes all the difference in a range that low
-
@pokemoneinstein One fucking octave.
Ugh.
-
The bass is an octave too low for a real GB sound. It's such a shame, because everything else is just about perfect in this song.
-
@Splodarine like allwayas
-
@astebeste Hey Ruby and Sapphire were every ounce as good as Gold and Silver.
-
If Route 47/48 were in Pokemon Gold/Silver (Gen II Games), their music would sound just like this!

Pokemon games have a way with not only making you feel like you're on an adventure, but adding amazing music to the experience. GS&C were my favorite games and HG & SS was like being a kid all over again. And then they added this. The best thing for me was this music playing in a new part of my favorite region, and seeing that my Pichu was terrified of the cliff and cuddling next to me. Oh Pokemon, you know how to make a 24 year old feel 12 again.
-
@OmgCannon Now that you mention it... Oh gosh, yes!
I knew it didn't sound Pokémon-ish but something I heard before...
Nintendo went all out on the music.

This song wasn't in the original game. These routes were added to the remakes.
Some of the GB Player music is changed, for example, Cerulean City.
