@OfirBeck It's Cajun French. Like many Cajun songs, lyrics are fungible depending on the artist, but most versions run along these lines:
"J'ai été au bal hier soir, tout habillé en noir;
C'est ca l'habille que moi j'aime",
pour courtiser ma belle"
In English,
"I went to the dance last night,
Dressed all in black;
That's what I like to wear,
to court my beautiful girl."
Black is often replaced by blue the second time the verse is sung, and sometimes "ma belle" with "les veuves" (widows).
