On the River Die Winterreise Schubert Janette Miller

This was the first short music video I made with iMovie2. In fact it was made using my trusty old Sony camcorder with tape in about 2001 and the effects were added in the camera. It was then pieced together with great difficulty using the very new iMove2.

At the time the sound was OK, I had recorded it with my then alive husband but in a studio live and had not been able to mix consequently the balance between singer and pianist was not satisfactory.

Now with Midi/Garageband I can write out my own accompaniments and in this case add a more modern orchestration appropriate to the modern approach.

iMovie2 and the early camcorders were truly amazing. Those that followed have not been as good or as easy to use.

Today you need to really want to do this to achieve the same visual results as you need a far more challenging edit suite and hours of time.

I still use iMovie 6.3 as it is so good for this type of work and I still use tape as it can save on rendering times.
