"Living in America" is a 1985 song composed by Dan Hartman and Charlie Midnight and performed by James Brown (Hartman also provided backing vocals). It was prominently featured in the motion picture Rocky IV. In the film, Brown sings the song before Apollo Creed enters the boxing ring, in reference to the character's patriotism.
"Living in America" was released as a single in 1985 and reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also became a top five hit for Brown in the United Kingdom, peaking at number five on the UK Singles Chart; this was his only top 10 single in the UK. It appeared on the Rocky IV soundtrack album the following year. The full version of the song (nearly six minutes long) was also included on Brown's 1986 album, Gravity, and on various compilations throughout the 1990s.
In 1986 "Living in America" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song, and James Brown won a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.

Lyrics / Letra :
Yeah, uh! Get up, now! Ow! Knock out this!
Super highways, coast to coast, easy to get anywhere On the transcontinental overload, just slide behind the wheel How does it feel
When there's no destination - that's too far And somewhere on the way, you might find out who you are
Living in America - eye to eye, station to station Living in America - hand to hand, across the nation Living in America - got to have a celebration
Rock my soul
Smokestack, fatback, many miles of railroad track All night radio, keep on runnin' through your rock 'n' roll soul All night diners keep you awake, hey, on black coffee and a hard roll
You might have to walk the fine line, you might take the hard line But everybody's working overtime
Living in America - eye to eye, station to station Living in America - hand to hand, across the nation Living in America - got to have a celebration
I live in America, help me out, but I live in America, wait a minute
You might not be looking for the promised land, but you might find it anyway Under one of those old familiar names Like New Orleans (New Orleans), Detroit City (Detroit City), Dallas (Dallas) Pittsburg P.A. (Pittsburg P.A.), New York City (New York City) Kansas City (Kansas City), Atlanta (Atlanta), Chicago and L.A.
Living in America - hit me Living in America - yeah, I walk in and out Living in America
I live in America - state lines, gonna make the prime, that I live in America - hey, I know what it means, I
Living in America - Eddie Murphy, eat your heart out Living in America - hit me, I said now, eye to eye, station to station Living in America - so nice, with your bare self Living in America - I feel good!

Ok, smedleylt, I'll bite. I love a good argument. I can't tell you when Obama actually said those words, because he did not. However, his actions speak far louder than his words. His Middle Eastern apology tour, shortly after taking office, in which he bowed to muslim leaders, told me all I needed to know. Now you are saying that Obama, who wants to take away health care for the middle class, and wants to double our energy costs (Copenhagen), REALLY loves America ? You, sir, are sadly misled.
Damn shame that America is no longer the proud Nation that it was in this 1985 video.
I remember when life was this pretty.
Reagan was in the White House, and I slept well at night, knowing that the President loved America first, and anybody who wanted a piece would get a good ol' fashioned country ass-whoopin'.
Now our ( democrat ) leaders are apologizing to the world for our ( former ) greatness.
No way a video like this could be made now, someone would get offended...
You mean the good ol days when you were a slave owner? or when seggregation was a good thing? or the good ol days when your clan ruled the country? which good ol days are you talkin about?
