This is the most underrated series of all time. Very few others have explained evolution so succinctly and in such easy-to-understand terms as in these four one-hour lectures. I'm glad I came across this. This was a real treat.

"What a straw man!! evolution does not predict that at all. You need to relisten (or actually listen) to the lectures in this series."
Hehe, I'm joking. Check out my user page.

@bboinigelunobboi gaps like what? or are you refering to abiogenesis?

@gramagrass assuming evolution followed it to the degree, deriving the diversity and biological differences between say as far apart as humans and protozoans, or as close as humans and early hominids. Its a stretch to believe, and there are significant gaps in the theory, not taking away from the biological advancements that scientist make everyday.

@gramagrass I think what hes trying to say is first if RNA was the first molecule, then where did the oxygen come from, or if proteins are the first molecules, then where was it synthesized. These are considered to be the primary protobionts, along with others that where able to catalyze their own reactions. Whether its impossible to prove or beyond or intelligence, the question remains unchanged, what process produced these reactions or starting genetic material that led to life as we know it

Why are there so many dislikes for the videos in this series?
Votebots?

Another great video. 5 stars from me.

this is going to seem like a stupid comment, but how is it that this lecture is uploaded as one fifty-eight minute video, and other long videos have to be uploaded in ten-minute segments?

At around 54:00 onward he says something that rings a bell to me.
Originally a species of Discomosa coralimorphian was described by several different scientists in different parts of the world, However much later another scientist reviewed the data and the animals themselves and discovered that it was a single species that was being
Described seven or more times and considered different each time.
hence why some people still sometimes call Discomosa, Actinodiscus.
Actinodiscus being outdated.

I guess the elephant crawled out scared of the mouse still in the jar ;p

A request:
Our critical analyses have focused on creationism's assault on science. However, we have been searching for a video to use for a critical analysis which actually details the "evidence" for creation. In other words, we are looking for creationists who document the supporting evidence for their claims, not attack evolutionary biology out of ignorance. We are unsure if such a presentation actually exists which is why we are enlisting your help.
