YourProduceGuy show you how to wrap and store melons. This is the perfect way to make your melons last longer, have it ready for a quick healthy snack from the fridge, or even have on display before you cut into them for a party.

  • There's no need to have the bottom side covered completely as well?

  • @KezoZydis No. You don't wrap a whole melon as the skin protects the fruit. So, when you wrap a cut melon you just need to seal the fruit portion to keep the freshness in. The skin will continue to protect the fruit on the bottom side.

  • Can we also just cut up the melon and put it in a glass container with a tight fitting lid? (I sometimes see melons cut up but there is usually like watermeon juice in the bottom of the container and I was not sure if the grocery store put in the juice or not? Thanks by the way for this video.

  • @TheMOstang1 You can prepare melons like that and store them in an air-tight container. That makes it very convenient for your usage. You will get that juice down in the bottom of the container though. Once cut, the melons will 'weep' some of their juice and that's why you see juice in the bottom of the containers at the store. The more juice, the longer they have been there. Melons are great, and the season is approaching for them!

  • Thanks for your comment! I've got some fun things in the works. Let me know if there is anything specific that you would like to see.
