Nationalism is such in-group nonsense. Feel good about being a part of larger community with a rich history, but don't think that makes you fundamentally different from any other person.

It's because the BBC is the foundation of English establishment in Scotland, they don't want the natives to get restless and start wanting a republic and democracy instead of a bastardized form of monarchy.

True true. Culture gives people a sense of belonging, and any other sense of belonging that conflicts with the status quo must be abolished, it's written in the course of English history: the servile must be subduded and comply with being "British", whatever that dark and cloudy word means. "Britishness" overrules "Scottishness" because the Scots are a owned and subduded people, a people that must rise again!
