I feel that its given me more compassion for others, Moore said, and its opened up my mind to seek opportunities to help other people, to try to comfort other people because I was such a young age and I was left uncomforted. . . . I want to seek and help other people now."

Moores book, Shattered Silence, was released on Sept. 8. Moore will be appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show Thursday, September 17, to talk about her story.

Moore is grateful for the gospel and how it has changed her life. She wants others to know that when life takes a tragic turn, it may not seem like life will get better, but it does. She said her situation has shaped her into the person she is today.

I said another prayer, Moore said. Soon after the thought came to me that if I shared my experiences . . . I could be proof that scars dont have to be permanent.

She also knew she needed more help when her daughter Aspen, who was seven at the time, came home from school and asked her where Moores dad was. While searching for a way to explain her past and come to terms with it, Moore was inspired to write a book. But she didnt want it to be about the horrible details of her fathers life. She wanted it to be a benefit to other people.

Not long after praying for help Moore came across an article in the Ensign by Elder Richard G. Scott titled Healing the Tragic Scars of Abuse.

It gave me hope for the first time, Moore said. It said that scars need not be permanent. . . . I thought that I could never get over my past, until I read that article and then I knew . . . I could recover from my past.

I think you need to do a little more research our church openly supports finding out for yourself whether the LDS church is true or not and according to a pew foundation (non-lds affiliated organization) reports that the more educated you are the more likely you are to believe the church is true making the LDS church membership more educated then any other Christian religious group. You need to do your research before you make accusations.

Having been born and raised in the Mromon church, I know from experience that the typical Mormon knows very little, even about the teachings that have been in their own religion, little own real information on other belief systems. I have done much research, and that is part of the reason why I so firmly know that the Mormon church is not true at all. I would sure be interested to see that pew report, especially considering the total lack of any archaeology to back up stories in the BOM.

what a scam! None of the witnesses saw the "plates", they were "shown" the plates through the spirit. Then they recanted later. I really like how none of the paintings of the "translation" show how the plates were not there and that JS used a magic rock in a hat to do the brunt of the work... and not ther Urimm and Thummim provided by God.

How do you know? Did God himself tell you that the LDS church is not true or are you going off your gut feeling that anything that is strange or foreign to you must be wrong. Just think to yourself what if the LDS church is true. What if I am fighting against God? Maybe I should look into whether this church is true or not instead of blindly asserting that it can't be. The only way to know complete truth is through personal revelation from God or else you are lost to your own opinions.
